A Life's Work, Coming to a Close
Hello, I'm Sarah, and it means more than you know that you've found your way to my little shop. For more than 40 years, I have made leather sandals by hand, slowly and carefully, never settling for anything less than my best. What started as one small thing I loved quietly became my life's work, a way to pass a piece of myself to the women who understand what it means to own something real, made with patience and made to last.
Where Every Pair Begins and Ends
Welcome to Sandals by Sarah, a small workshop built on patience, real craft, and a love for things made to last. For more than 40 years, this little place has been my passion, my quiet refuge, and my way of bringing a little beauty into everyday life, one handmade pair at a time.
What began as a simple love for the craft, learned long ago in a small Florence workshop, slowly grew into something I never expected, a place women return to because they care about slow craft, honest quality, and the story behind every stitch. Every pair here is made by my own hands. No machines. No mass production. Just me, fine leather, and a heart full of care, so that the sandals you choose aren't only something you wear, but something you'll keep close for years.
Letting Go, With a Full Heart
There comes a time when even the work you love most begins to ask more than your hands can give. For me, after more than 40 years at the bench, that time has quietly arrived. I have made my last batches of sandals, and though my heart isn't quite ready, I know it's time to step away while I can still look at my work and feel proud of every stitch.
I think often about all the women who walked through their lives in something I made, ordinary mornings, long summers, days that mattered. That is what I'll hold onto. These final pairs carry the very best of what I learned in all these years, and it would mean the world to me to know one of them is out there, well-worn and well-loved, long after I've made my last.
